Packaging design, 2023.

The Montreal Public Markets offer fresh, local and high-quality products to local montrealers and are considered a must-visit place by tourists. As part of their newest line of products made from their farmers’ ingredients, I reimagined the packaging containers of hummus and developed a system that extends to other products in the line, such as seeds.

To contrast current hummus packagings, I selected reusable jars and a color palette that complements each flavour. The stamps placed on the lid were designed for each farm to identify the products that use their ingredients.

In the process, I learned that every detail matters, such as the right paper choice. I explored many prototypes with different paper thicknesses while adjusting the dieline before I found a paper and structure that were strong enough to hold the jars!
